Campaign Start-up Rules:

You have all just gotten off the boat after a long journey across the sea. Your only stop for over two months, was three weeks ago on a small island they called Port Chestersmith, named after an old pirate. You are each part of an expedition across the sea to find new land and new exotic artifacts. Your Captain is Arstil Germaine. There are two boats full of men sailing across the sea one mainly to carry cargo and the other to carry the explorers. The lead boat, carrying the explorers hit a reef off the coast of a land no one had seen before at night. The bottom of the boat was torn up and the crew had to abandon ship. The ship partially sunk and only one man died, Canter the man in the crows nest at the time was catapulted out the nest when the ship hit the reef and fell to his doom. The cargo ship was able to avoid the reef and anchor away from it. The rest of the crew was able to make it to shore and set up a camp. The total of men in the crew is 42 men (unless someone decides to play a female.) Tents have been pitched along the beach and a camp has been established over the last three days. The Captain has called all of the crew together on the beach the morning of your fourth day there. You were all hand picked to come on this trek because of each of your individual skills. You are the exploration crew.

Pathfinder Rules

A beginning at 1st level campaign

- 25 point buy
- Equipment money will be rolled
- All Pathfinder books can be used. The spell compendium and the complete books can be used. If you want to use a prestige class from one of the non-pathfinder books it will need to be approved of and converted.
- races are the core book races plus teiflings and the special teifling rules from council of thieves can be used (any other races have to be approved and have a good back ground) I may have other races in mind that are playable you just have to ask me.
- all pathfinder classes are approved except the new martial classes of samarai, and gunslinger
- everyone gets a free craft or profession skill at first level of the following: craft: blacksmith, rope, ships, shoes, clothing, leather; profession: cook, engineer, fisherman, sailor, scribe. If you can come up with a skill or craft that would go with the campaign and want to use it ask me if I will allow it.
- you get two traits at first level, no pathfinder regional traits are allowed – only social, religion, racial, combat, and magic
- any alignment is playable, but remember you have to at least get along with those you are adventuring with or at least pretend to. I will not keep the party from killing you.

 - Save points – What I’m thinking about right now is the standard two save points per level, save points will only have two functions; keep you from dying and getting past a missed save attempt.
1. If your character gets hit with enough damage to kill him/her then you can use a save point and your character will be at -1 hit points and stabilized.
2. If you miss a saving throw then you can use a save point to make that saving throw.
3. two save points together will save for a spell that can automatically kill you, like phantasmal killer, power word kill, disintegrate, etc.
If save points aren’t used then they carry over until they are used. So if you never use them and survive you can have a stack of them.

- xp will not be given out for how many monsters or bad guys you kill, but for completing adventures and tasks. I also will keep track of the xp myself and tell you when you level up. If you do want to know how much xp you have a will give it to you.

- you will be able to earn extra gold before you start for writing a background the gold could be up to 500gp depending on how much background you give me. From the world you came from there were cities and counties and city-states all over. Note that the original port you sailed from was not near where David’s campaign is but if you want to be from one of those already created cities or countries then that is fine. The original port you sailed from was a large town called Korndall.

I’m not going to tell anyone what to play, but with this group you have been brought along with you have been chosen for a certain set of skills you bring to the table. Whether those skills are knowledge, or languages, or fighting ability, or natural habitat ability, or whatever they are not going to chose two of the same type of people to come on this trip unless it is part of the ship’s crew. Your reason for wanting to come is up to you.
